What is Romeo and Duet?

Romeo and Duet is a brand new dating show being produced by Goat Films for ITV. Contestants will be serenaded on a balcony by another contestant—but they won’t be able to see them. If the singleton on the balcony likes what they hear, they can go down and meet their date for the first time. They’ll then be taken to record a duet together. A number of couples will be put together this way, and they’ll compete to be named the winning duo.

The first series of Romeo and Duetwill run for seven episodes. It will be dancer and new Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse’s first presenting gig. She said:

I’m so excited to be part of Romeo and Duet. It’s always been a dream to host so this is a real ‘pinch me’ moment. It’s about love with a little bit of a twist and showcase of talent, it’s fresh and fun, and I hope everyone’s going to love it as much as I do.

Be on Romeo and Duet

If you fancy your chances on the show, you’ve still got a few days to apply. With production set to begin this month, ITV are accepting applications on their website until Sunday 16th January. Just like with Love Island, the main requirement is that you’re over 18. You’ll also have to be a comfortable singer. To apply you need to send a short clip of yourself singing and fill in a short application form.
