Wes Nelson hasn’t been having the best time of it recently. After breaking up with long-term girlfriend Arabella Chi during lockdown, he’s had to move in with Love Island pal Josh Denzel for the rest of the lockdown period. He’s now also being used by scammers trying to swindle his fans.

According to Wes, online tricksters have been using his name to coax personal details out of his fans. The hoax page is posing as an ‘itv casting’ account and supposedly sending out ‘Wes’’ phone number via Instagram messages.

Newly-single Wes, 22, took to his Instagram story to warn his followers not to fall for the scam, sharing a heavily-filtered selfie and saying: ‘Also anyone who’s received messaged from a fake 'itv casting' account claiming to send my number out please ignore you’re being scammed.’

After some fans took issue with the former Islander moving in with someone new whilst lockdown is still ongoing, Wes also took the opportunity to beg his fans to stop asking about his new living situation, saying: ‘For the 48 millionth time yes I am living with Josh and have been since everything happened.’

Meanwhile, Wes’ ex-girlfriend Arabella Chi, who is still living in the home they had previously shared, has not commented directly on the split. But on Wednesday she shared a selfie with the caption: ‘During this time it’s allowed me to reflect and spend a lot of time on my own it’s made me realise and revaluate that happiness really does come from the little things in life 💫’.
