As a result of the deadly virus sweeping the globe, bosses of the show decided to cancel Winter Love Island and focus more on the return of their hit show Love Island in 2021. According to a well-connected source to the show:
Love Island bosses enjoyed the one and only series of Winter Love Island, but it was just before the pandemic raged so was shelved for 2021.
But now that things are seemingly returning back to normal once and for all, the show is said to be making its triumphant return. The same source explained:
When they started casting for this summer’s series they thought there’s definitely enough talent to do a second series again so have started the plans for a 2023 Winter Love Island. The series generally is really important for them as it attracts the all-important younger viewers, so if they can get a second series in one year then everyone will be delighted.
However, as it stands currently, no official air or even casting dates have been released by ITV.
What's is store for Love Island 2022?
The new series of Love Island is not only said to be the longest one yet but bosses of the show have decided to add many new features: including a brand new villa fully equipped with its biggest gym ever. A source close to the show explained:
Viewers love all the scenes of rippling muscles and sexy squats. Now producers hope that extra space for couples to work out will lead to more hook-ups as the testosterone flows.
