This week, ITV2 shared the devastating news that the upcoming seventh series of Love Island has been pushed back to 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. And fans of the show are not alone in being disappointed, as the reality star wannabes who were being lined up for the villa this summer are said to be ‘furious’, despite assurances they’ll still be cast next year.

Meanwhile, series 2 Love Island winner Nathan Massey has shared a brilliant idea that might just help fill the Love Island-shaped hole in our lives this summer. Taking to his Instagram story just after the news broke, Nathan showed he was just as upset as us, writing:
Devastating news about loveisland being moved to 2021.
However, the 27-year-old reality star then proposed an idea that might actually be a stroke of true genius, as he continued:
Who thinks ITV should film a recap show of all the couples that have had kids and got married from previous years? Just a thought, it is what the shows about after all?
This isn’t the first time that Nathan and his wife Cara De La Hoyde have proposed a ‘Love Island OGs’ spin-off show – but now that the regular series of Love Island has been postponed, the timing could be just right for catching up with all the ex-Islanders who are still totally loved-up, like Cara and Nathan, Olivia and Alex, Jess and Dom and Jamie and Camilla.
Although it has to be said, not everyone was on board with the idea, as a couple of commenters suggested watching couples with kids would be boring, with one saying:
No thanks, if anything the ones without kids and married are the most interesting these days without disrespect x.’
Meanwhile, series 5’s Anton Danyluk had a brutal response, saying:
Would only last about 2 secs because most have split up.
