Nostradamus (the original) was a French doctor, pharmacist and seer who lived in the 1500s. He predicted that some kind of artificial intelligence would produce 'technological wonders' in the coming year. Athos Salomé is known as the ‘living Nostradamus’. He, too, makes predictions about the future and claims to have foreseen the pandemic, Elon Musk purchasing Twitter and even the Queen’s death.

Salomé has a new and very creepy prediction for 2024, taking things one step further than his predecessor: the living Nostradamus reckons that AI will allow us to contact the dead.
Living Nostradamus’ prediction
It is undeniable that AI has seen a major shift in the way we live and work since it was developed and used by the general public. Salomé says it has changed ‘humanity's journey through time like never before’:
What may have seemed like science fiction years ago is on the brink of becoming a part of everyday life normalizing what was once deemed supernatural.
He is not wrong, and technology is making advancements every day. About AI, he says:
Through this groundbreaking technology people can not only overcome traumas and challenges but also gain insights into their life purposes and spiritual paths.
However, though he believes that AI will make it possible to communicate with the dead, he acknowledges that this may take its toll on the living.
Living Nostradamus’ warning
Salomé wonders whether we are prepared to converse with ‘a mediated realm beyond our understanding’. He claims to have connected with figures from history through the tool, including René Descartes, an influential French mathematician.
He said of his experience:
These encounters not only strengthened my faith in the project but they also expanded my comprehension of the interconnections between science, spirituality and history.
Although such exchanges could provide a ‘deeper connection with the universe’, Salomé is concerned that using AI to connect with the dead is opening a Pandora’s box ‘that will challenge our core beliefs’.
This seems valid in a world that is not so far from his prediction as you may think; people are already using AI to ‘resurrect’ lost ones and keep their memories alive.
