Serial killers fascinate as much as they frighten. And a number of works retrace some of the greatest international crime stories. Not least on the Netflix platform, with the recent documentary on Michel Fourniret, the one on Ted Bundy, or the series Le Serpent. If you've watched them, chances are you're passionate about criminal psychology and serial killers. And although it's not an exact science, some astrological signs are more likely to harbor serial killers than others, according to a study by statistician Dr. Jan Ruis.
In 2008, Dr. Jan Ruis analyzed the birthdates of 300 serial killers, and found that four signs of the zodiac recurred frequently. The statistician then drew up a list of the four signs most common among serial killers.
Gemini (May 21 - June 21)
Geminis are reputed to be very sociable, which helps them attract their prey. Being the sign of the twins, Gemini, in the astrological realm, is often associated with a double face. According to observations by astrologer Shawn Engel, serial killers born under the sign of Gemini are likely to live in two distinct realities, using manipulation and lies as key elements of their strategies.
Infamous Gemini serial killers include :
- Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the 'Cannibal of Milwaukee' or the 'Milwaukee Monster', was an American serial killer and sex offender who became known for his heinous crimes. Born on May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dahmer murdered and dismembered 17 young men between 1978 and 1991. His crimes involved necrophilia and cannibalism.
- Hélène Jégado was a 19th-century French poisoner, born on October 9, 1803 in Plouhinec, Brittany, and died on February 26, 1852 in Rennes. She is often referred to as the 'Golden Maid', due to her many domestic employment situations.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Renowned for their intelligence and organized thinking, Virgos are among the most intuitive of all astrological signs. These individuals possess a remarkable ability to plan their delinquent actions and are often adept at devising strategies to avoid apprehension, as astrologer Engel explains:

- Ed Gein was an American serial killer and body snatcher who lived in the mid-20th century. He was born on August 27, 1906 and died on July 26, 1984. Ed Gein was known for his macabre crimes, including the murder of two women and the creation of household objects and clothing from parts of human corpses. He inspired several horror films, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and The Silence of the Lambs.
- Carol M. Bundy was an American criminal involved in a series of murders in the 1980s. Born on August 26, 1942, she was known for her association with Doug Clark, a serial killer also known as the 'Sunset Strip Killer'. Both were implicated in the murders of several young female prostitutes.
Sagittarius (November 23 - December 21)
According to Dr. Jan Ruis, a significant number of serial killers are born under the sign of Sagittarius. Natives of this sign are attracted by adrenalin and constantly on the lookout for thrills. Risk-taking excites them.
Among the infamous serial killers of the Sagittarius sign are :
- Ted Bundy, born Theodore Robert Bundy on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont, and executed on January 24, 1989 in Starke, Florida, was one of the most notorious serial killers in American history. Bundy was involved in a series of brutal murders of young women in the 1970s.
- Rosemary West is a British criminal born on November 29, 1953. She became infamous for her involvement in a series of murders in collaboration with her husband, Fred West, in the UK. The Wests were responsible for the abduction, rape and murder of several young women between 1967 and 1987.
Pisces (February 20 - March 20)
Often considered to be sensitive and non-violent, Pisces natives sometimes reserve tragically unexpected surprises. According to astrologer Shawn Engel, interviewed by Bustle magazine, some of the most bloodthirsty serial criminals were born under the sign of Pisces:

- Richard Ramirez also known as Night Stalker, was an American serial killer and rapist born February 29, 1960 in El Paso, Texas, and died June 7, 2013 in prison. He committed 11 rapes and 14 murders.
- Aileen Wuornos was an American serial killer born on February 29, 1956 and died by lethal injection on October 9, 2002 in Florida. She is known to have been involved in the murders of seven men between 1989 and 1990. Wuornos was a prostitute for much of her life, and claimed to have killed the men in self-defense when they tried to rape her.
