Baba Vanga was, ironically and iconically, a blind prophet who lived from 1911 to 1996. She is known for having predicted several events that ended up coming true and going down in the history books. She is notably said to have predicted Brexit, Chernobyl, and 9/11. Something that no one could have predicted was what happened to flight 93, and the fourth and failed attack of 9/11.

But let’s focus on the here and now, and what the blind mystic saw unravelling in 2024. She made some bold predictions about Putin and foresaw a cure for cancer being found by next year, but she also made some terrifying claims about weapons of mass destruction.
Baba Vanga’s predictions weapons of mass destruction
The Bulgarian seer made some very terrifying claims about a ‘big country’ using a weapon of mass destruction. She predicted that attacks or tests, using such a weapon, would be carried out in 2024.
The idea of this is, of course, horrible - but is it far from realistic? Given the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Vladimir Putin could order an attack on Ukraine. Russia certainly counts as a ‘big country’, being around 70 times larger than the UK.
Vladimir Putin’s nuclear threats
Many nuclear threats have been bandied around - not so much by Putin himself, but by his cronies. Just this month, Russian state TV host Vladimir Solovyov stated that nuclear war is inevitable. Speaking to panelists on his show, he said:
It will happen, no doubt about it.
Similarly, in October, Russia’s defence minister Sergei Shoigu warned of ‘catastrophic consequences’ of Russia being pushed to use nuclear weapons. According to Russian state agency TASS, Shoigu made the following terrifying statement:
The Western line of steady escalation of the conflict with Russia carries the threat of a direct military clash between nuclear powers.
Russia has also recently announced it had been testing nuclear drills. Putin has pulled out of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, an agreement that banned members from carrying out ‘any nuclear weapon test explosion or any other nuclear explosion’ anywhere in the world.
Taking all of this into account, Baba Vanga’s prediction seems terrifyingly possible… though it would take a certain kind of madness to unleash such a horrible fate for your victims.
