What is Harvest Moon?
According to Almanac, the phenomenon of the Harvest Moon is related to the timing of the autumn equinox (September 22, 2022). The Full Moon that occurs nearest to the equinox is given the name of Harvest Moon. Therefore, the phenomenon of the Harvest Moon can occur between September and October depending on when the lunar cycle and the Gregorian calendar overlap.
This moon is called Harvest Moon because, in the olden days, the bright moonlight used to aid the farmers in harvesting their crops during autumn's harvest season.
