Hunter Moon happens this day
The beauty of the moon never ceases to amaze and the upcoming moon will be no less than spectacular. The event of our natural satellite is set to occur at 4:55 p.m. EDT (9:55 p.m GMT) on the 9th of October.
According to Starwalk, this is not just a one-night event. Viewers can watch this phenomenon for 3 whole days. In addition, the Hunter Moon is none other than the full moon that followers sometime after the occurrence of the Harvest Moon.
What is Hunter Moon?
This celestial event certainly has an interesting name which was derived when the farmers would harvest their crops on the Harvest Moon and by the next full moon, the fields would be clear. This allowed the hunters a clear view of animals and made the hunt easier.
Due to this background story, the Hunter and the Harvest moon are linked as per Newsweek. Harvest Moon is the first full moon that follows the autumn equinox. The second full moon that follows the Harvest Moon is the Hunter moon.
