Troubles after a birth
A family from Utah made headlines when they disclosed that a 56-year-old woman will be giving birth to her son’s baby. 32-year-old Jeff Hauck and his wife, Cambria, 30, were blessed with twins last year (2021). However, Cambria faced serious complications during the process of delivering her babies. Due to this, she had to have a hysterectomy, which means that she will never be able to get pregnant carry and have children again, as reported by Daily Mail.
The couple was saddened by the news as they already wished to extend their family of 6 to more. Already having four children, the couple desperately wanted to have a fifth child. Nonetheless, they didn’t think that was possible until Jeff’s mom, Nancy, stepped in.
Mum decides to become the surrogate
Nancy offered herself as a surrogate to carry the child of her son and his wife. The situation might seem unusual but it didn’t deter Nancy from helping the couple. She said:
I just suddenly had a feeling a few months after that I should offer to do it…I told my son, and he teared up and was shocked — I hadn't even told my husband at that point. But he was really supportive
The family soon began preparations and approached the doctors. Nancy was prepared for the pregnancy and started receiving hormonal therapy. She got pregnant in January 2022 and gave birth in November of the same year.
