According to the reports, the aggressor, a 43-year-old man, was convinced by a priest that his wife was expecting a little girl, which would be the sixth for the couple. However, the man was desperate for a boy and asked his wife to abort the child, which she refused to do.
Faced with the unknown and his desire to know the sex of the baby, the aggressor allegedly decided to rip open his 4-month-pregnant wife’s belly to find out for sure. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital.
She was quickly treated at the Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi, and luckily, doctors were able to save both her life and that of her unharmed foetus.
The victim’s relatives have opened up about the incident and confessed that this was not the first time that the man had attacked his wife.
My brother-in-law often used to beat my sister for giving birth to five daughters. Our parents had intervened on several occasions. But no one imagined that he would take such a cruel step.
Fortunately, he was arrested and incarcerated after the incident and is now facing charges for attempted murder.
