A lot of my friends I had in secondary school I'm not friends with now because since I lost the weight they just drifted away.
She continued on to explain:
I think they must have liked me for being the fat friend that was just there. I was the token fat friend in the group.
Isn’t that horrible? But who wants shallow friends, anyways? No one. No one does!
So what prompted her to the weight? Jobson and her uni mates booked a sunny holiday, which meant that she would have to wear a bikini. And she wanted to feel comfortable on her vacation!
Strict diet and workout routine
So Jobson set some rules: no eating after 6 pm and no snacks. She also planned healthy meals with her mom and became a regular face at the gym. And it all worked out! Johnson was able to rock a bikini on her holiday. But, let us be clear, nobody needs to lose weight to look good in swimwear. Elizabeth revealed:
I was able to go on holiday and wear a bikini and everything which I probably haven't done since I was about five. I used to hate swimming - I just hated it.
Jobson confirms that despite the total transformation, she’s still the same on the inside:
I'm still the same person - I still have the same personality and like the same things. It's just my body has completely changed.
However, in an interview with the Daily Mail Jobson revealed that since her transformation, she's been swatting away the guys:
The funny thing is that since I lost the weight loads of the lads in secondary school that used to call me names and take the mick, they're always the ones on the night out trying to chat me up and stuff. I tell them where to go straight away.
Making real connections
But sadly, Elizabeth revealed she lost more than just the weight as many of her friends also faded away, seemingly because they were only interested in her as a 'token' in their group. Honestly, that's just an opportunity for Jobson to make better connections because nobody needs friends like that. She stated:
A lot of my friends I had in secondary school I'm not friends with now because since I lost the weight and they just drifted away. I think they must have liked me for being the fat friend that was just there. I was the token fat friend in the group.
