But have you ever been so disappointed with your French fries, that you thought it warrants a police complaint? Well, as reported by New York Post,a man in Kennesaw, Georgia was so angered by his cold McDonald’s fries that he ended up calling the police. But it did not end well for him.
Man calls police to complain about cold fries
The man in question, Antoine Simms visited a McDonald’s restaurant in Kennesaw, Georgia, with his girlfriend on August 8. They ordered their food and allegedly did not receive a receipt due to a malfunctioning machine. This meant they did not know what number their order was assigned.
When they finally collected their food, it was hot enough, according to Simms. He is quoted as saying,
I try the fries the fries they’re lukewarm but they’re not hot.
He got into a serious altercation with the restaurant, which led them to throw him out of the premises.
The caller happened to be a murder suspect
When the police arrived at the scene following both Simms’ and the restaurant’s calls to 911, they asked Simms to sign some documents. It led to him getting very nervous and asking the officer if is he is under arrest.
As an officer approached him, Simms fled the scene. He was then chased down by officers and subsequently arrested. It turns out that the caller, Simms was actually wanted by the police on charges of murder for the death of a woman.
When he made the call, the police realised his true identity and then it was only a matter of time before they apprehended and arrested him outside the same McDonald’s whose cold fries irked him so much.
Police Officer David Buchanan is quoted as saying,
It’s very unusual that someone, knowing he is wanted by police, would call the police, but Mr. Sims did that
