A groom caused a stir at his own wedding when he decided to arrive at the ceremony in a coffin, carried down the aisle by his best friends. In a video posted on TikTok by one of the guests, the unnamed groom’s unconventional stunt was not well received.

‘Till death do us part’
Alluding to the rhetoric of one’s life being over once they get married, the groom thought to it wise to arrive at his own wedding in a black coffin, driven to the ceremony in a hearse. In the video which has garnered more than 8 million views so far, six bridesmaids and grooms men could be seen struggling to carry the casket up the aisle. The officiant and guests looked puzzled as the groom emerged from the coffin. The TikToker, @tobz88 who posted the video aptly captioned it:
Is this a funeral?? No, this is how my friend decided to walk down the aisle… tell me you’re dramatic without telling me you’re dramatic’.
Reactions
The footage did not show the bride and so it’s unclear what her reaction was. But, netizens did could not hold back their disapproval about the macabre and ‘disrespectful’ stunt. Some comments read:
We would be divorced before we said I do.
I have the deepest ick. Would have left immediately.
I would literally cancel the wedding.
The disrespect, the audacity.
But not all viewers had the same reaction to the video. Some sought to find the humour in it:
I need to see the bride, because if she isn’t 3x as dramatic as him then I don’t want any of it!
