When AirPods hit the market, Apple had to deal with several doctors’ allegations saying their products were dangerous for the public’s health. And after that, there was the scandal in which they admitted to slowing down one of their most popular products, the iPhone.
And it seems these bizarre stories just keep rolling in. A Russian man is now suing Apple for ‘immaterial damage’. He hasn’t been a victim of strange SMS messages causing his iPhone to crash but has instead decided to sue the company for apparently causing him to become homosexual. And he has singled out an app that he downloaded from the App store as to blame.
Cryptocurrency apps
This man, who wishes to remain anonymous, claims he downloaded a cryptocurrency app from the App store but was sent ’69 GayCoins’ instead of the unspecified number of Bitcoins that he had actually ordered.

The GayCoins arrived on a cryptocurrency payment app with a note saying, ‘Don’t judge until you try.’ The man claims this messaged tempted him and he then ended up taking it literally. In his complaint, he explains:
‘I thought, in truth, how can I judge something without trying? I decided to try same-sex relationships. Now I have a boyfriend and I do not know how to explain this to my parents… my life has been changed for the worse and will never become normal again.’
Consequences
This man claims that because Apple pushed him into trying homosexuality, his life is now extremely difficult as a result. He resents the temptation he got from the company and says they are to blame.
His claims sound absurd and illogical. After all, homosexuality is completely normal and in the 21st century, we should finally be able to look past those ancient negative connotations that used to surround it. It remains to be seen what Apple will say about the lawsuit. After all, his lawsuit could affect lots of people since it’s hard to force someone to feel a certain way about something or someone He chose to be open and has found happiness with his partner. It seems as if the man is just looking for a way to justify himself to his parents because he is too afraid to just admit the truth…
But Sapijat Gousnieva, the plaintiff’s lawyer, has stated that this is a ‘serious’ lawsuit and that her client is ‘scared’ and has ‘suffered’. She has also stated that Apple ‘has a responsibility for their programmes’, adding that her client was previously in a stable relationship with a woman.
This lawyer has previously been in the news in 2016 when she represented a student who had filed a lawsuit against McDonald’s after he suffered a cheek injury caused by a fishbone found in food that he had ordered from the fast-food restaurant.
