Phill Zdybel, 57, suffered a coronary artery aneurysm, which triggered a massive heart attack in Geelong, Australia, in November 2022. Fortunately, his son Joshua was quick-thinking and called emergency services as soon as his dad fell to the ground. Onlookers used a nearby defibrillator to try and restart Phill's heart and help arrived in time to save his life.
Phill floated above his body
When Phill woke up in Geelong Hospital a few days later doctors informed him he had been dead for 28 minutes. And, he remembers exactly what happened when he 'passed away'.
He revealed that contrary to all the stories about white lights or heavenly figures, he felt as though he was floating above and looking down on his body while an off-duty nurse attempted to bring him back to life.
Phill told the local newspaper Geelong Advertiser:
I would say I was a bit out of body.
What the experience taught him
Phill believes it was a 'miracle' that he had the heart attack while surrounded by so many people, as if it had happened when he was alone or in his sleep, he could have died. He said:
No one would have found me. I’m a miracle man.
He also revealed that the experience has taught him to live life to the fullest. Phill said:
All the little things we worry about are not worth worrying about.
Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do anything.
