Sachey found a 'living snail' in her food
A young cafe worker, Sachey Nurse, was enjoying her usual order from a local McDonald's in Llanelli, Wales, whenshe felt something crunch inside her burger. Indeed, the eighteen-year-old discovered a 'living snail' inside her McCrispy burger, which left her feeling 'disgusted'. She told TheSun about her gut-wrenching discovery:
I got this meal on Sunday. We were hungry and wanted fast food. It was a McCrispy Deluxe meal. I noticed the snail when I bit into the burger and something was crunchy. It was alive, it was moving.
After finding the snail, she went into the fast-food restaurant and reported her discovery. She explains:
I took it back to the store and they told me they would report this to their supplier company.
She will never visit the branch again
Sachey Nurse also reported her experience to the delivery platform JustEat, from which she had ordered her meal. She told TheSunshe will never visit this restaurant ever again:
It made me feel sick. I was disgusted. I'd never return to this McDonald's.
When asked about this ordeal, a spokesperson for the chain explained they employ 'rigorous standards' to ensure their food quality. They explained:
We are very sorry to hear about this customer’s experience. Food safety is of the utmost importance to us and we place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards to avoid any imperfections.
We understand that the customer has been in touch with the restaurant team who are conducting a thorough investigation and would encourage anyone with a complaint to contact our Customer Services team to help find a resolution.
In the meantime, the McCrispy Deluxe, a derived option from the original McCrispy, has been removed from the restaurant's menu. This removal also brought the return of the Chicken Big Mac, as well as the Deluxe Quarter Pounder. An investigation is supposed to have been opened by McDonald's, but the young woman decided to share her experience on her social media accounts to raise awareness.
