The problem with tanning
After going on holiday to Turkey in 2015, the 22-year-old woman thought she looked better with a darker complexion. Ever since then, she has become addicted to tanning beds. As Metro reported, since her holiday in 2015, she has had around 3 UV tanning sessions a week. Yes, you read that correctly. Unfortunately, this amount of UV is far greater than what the body can actually handle.
Not only did she not want to go back to her natural complexion, but she actually took her obsession a step further. The young woman also got regular injections of something called Melanotan, better known as ‘The Barbie Drug’ which makes your skin remain darker. This product is however illegal and very dangerous for your health.
However, Hannah claims she doesn’t have a problem with her white skin, but simply prefers herself when she is more tanned. However, some internet users have accused her of ‘blackface’, to which she responded:
Some people accused me of trying to look like a black woman. I’m not trying to do that at all, I just like the way my skin looks healthy and glowing with a tan.
At this time of year, it’s important to protect yourself when you go out in the sun. Overexposure can cause premature ageing of the skin and other conditions to appear as well. So be careful!
