Doctors have found everything from 3cm long needle to 8cm worm alive inside the brain. In a recent case, doctors reported finding a whole housefly inside a man's intestine.
Now, as reported by Metro, in an extremely bizarre incident, a 35-year-old man suffering from extreme headaches was left speechless at finding out the real reason for it.
Man did not notice this lodged in his brain
The incident happened in Vietnam. The 35-year-old patient was suffering from severe headaches, along with fluid discharge and loss of vision. He was rushed to Cuba Friendship Hospital in the city of Dong Hoi, Quang Binh province.
When a likely reason for the medical issues could not be determined, doctors ordered a CT scan. What they found was horrifying.
First of all the patient was experiencing tension pneumocephalus. This is a very rare but serious neurosurgical emergency that results in neurological deterioration.
But even more shockingly, the patient actually had a chopstick lodged inside his brain. Yes, CT scans shared by Vietnam.vn shows broken fragments of chopsticks stuck inside his skull apparently through the nose.
How did the chopsticks get inside the brain?
Turns out that the patient was involved in a brawl about 5 months back. It is surmised that the chopsticks entered his head via the nose during the flight.
The patient himself does not have clear recollection of what happened during the altercation, only remembering that he had felt as if he had been stabbed in the face.
Doctors performed an endoscopic surgery on the man in order to remove the chopsticks from his skull. As per the report, the patient remains in stable condition.
