TikTok is the new place for story telling. On this app, you can find people telling you about their time in prison or how they grew up in a polygamist cult. But TikTok can also be the place where users share little oddities that happen to them.

This is the case for this user, @munimarin who filmed something that happened to her mother.

A blocked ear

A blocked ear is usually no big deal. Sometimes water gets in there or sometimes wax accumulates. In other more worrying cases, an accident can occur when using a Q-tip that creates a wax blockage.

All of these situations are easily fixed. According to the NHS, a few simple things can help you with earwax build-up. The NHS explains:

put 2 to 3 drops of medical grade olive or almond oil in your ear 3 to 4 times a day. Do this for 3 to 5 days.
It is recommended you use a dropper while lying your head on one side for a few minutes to let the oil work its way through your ear canal(s).

However, even if the TikTok user’s mum had done that, no earwax build-up would have come out.

‘It's a f****** spider'

In the now viral TikTok, the user is seen using hydrogen peroxide in order to help her mother’s blocked ear. However, quickly after the chemicals enter the ear, something is seen crawling out.

As the little creature exits the mother and daughter exclaim:

it came out, I told you
what came out?
It’s a f****** spider!

Instead of being scared the two women laugh it off which surprised many of the viewers.

However, it isn’t uncommon for spiders or bugs to make their ways into ears. Verywell Health explains that symptoms of an insect in your ear are:

redness, itching, swelling, drainage, and pain. You may also hear scratchy noises or have moving sensations inside the ear.

Unfortunately there is no real way to prevent bugs from entering your ears. However, ear plugs can prevent them from getting far down your ear canal.
