For all children, Disney World is a magical place. But for young Shaylee, it was even more magical than she could have ever imagined. This little girl is Deaf, just like her mother and father. Apart from at her school where everyone can speak sign language, she struggles to communicate with people in the outside world. In a video posted by the American theme park, it’s easy to understand why Disney World is one of the places where she can feel more comfortable.

When she and her sister were talking a photo with Minnie, she realised she could speak with her. The person under the costume has said that she was learning sign language to be able to communicate with Deaf children. Shaylee was extremely surprised and happy to be able to speak with and understand Minnie. Her parents have said that during their childhoods, it was a lot rarer to meet people who could speak sign language. They were very grateful for this progress that has allowed their daughter to feel more included.
