A TikTok user has recounted an unusual anecdote. When she was 17, she went on a date with a boy and realized that he only had one leg after several months.

With Valentine's Day just behind us, it's a good time to reminisce about our dates. Some are successful, others strange, even creepy... In the United States, a TikTok user told her subscribers how she discovered that her former boyfriend was missing a limb... after several months!

'We saw each other every day'

It sounds implausible, but that's what @postpartumpsycho experienced. On TikTok, this user recounts:

So I was 17, I met this boy at the rodeo. I saw him from a distance and thought he was so handsome I had to have him. We exchanged numbers and three weeks later... we were in love!

We were inseparable, we saw each other like every day, we were two young people in love.

However, she noticed that her new boyfriend sometimes behaved strangely. For example, he always wears long trousers even when it was very hot, or when she pointed out that he had a limp, he replied that he was injured in a basketball game. So far, so good, though...

'Why did you make things weird?'

But little by little, she began to have strong suspicions. It was one photo in particular that tipped her off. She explains:

We went to a restaurant one night, and I took this picture. It still haunts me. Because the next day, I posted it on Facebook, and the more I looked at it, the more I thought: 'I think I've been bamboozled!' So I showed this photo to my friends and said: 'Guys, I think my boyfriend has only one leg'.

She wondered why her boyfriend had kept this information from her. But then again, you put yourself in his shoes and broaching the subject must be tricky. A few weeks later, when the couple were planning to go swimming in a lake, the boyfriend decided to tell her his secret. In fact, he was suffering from the polyomelitis virus, which can lead to paralysis of the legs, and would therefore have had to have his legs amputated before this encounter.

We don't know if it's out of modesty or for some other reason that he's hidden this particularity, but it's easy to understand that it can lead to a certain complex. @postpartumpsycho, for her part, was stunned. She told him:

Three months? You hid this for three months? Am I really that stupid and naive?

Following this revelation, the two remained a couple for several months before parting ways. In the end, that missing leg doesn't seem to have been such a problem!
