While it takes 10 minutes to cook rice, this woman gave birth to sextuplets. Thelma Chiaka gave birth to four boys and two girls. While some women spend up to 9 hours for one baby, she was able to get 6 out in a fraction of the time!
The babies were in good health, but as a precautionary measure were placed into intensive care in the neonatal unit of the hospital. Each one weighed between 1lb 2oz and 2lb 2oz, according to the Journal de Montréal. According to the hospital, “the mother is doing wonderfully”, and the names of the two little girls were revealed: Zina and Zuriel.
Happy but surely exhausted, the mother posed with the medical team with a smile. A one in 4.7 billion chance: that’s the probability of giving birth to sextuplets, the hospital, which is delighted with this absolutely incredible birth, revealed.
