Weird movements or sounds that you can't explain
Hauntings aren't necessarily evil, and might just be misunderstood. Newkirk suggests that haunting spirits might manifest through mysterious sights and sounds. These could include scratching on the wall, seeing strange apparitions, or even your dogs barking at things you cannot see.
Ectoplasm
Ectoplasm refers to a viscous substance that is believed to be generated during seances when spiritual or paranormal activities occur. Fact remains that it is still not well-understood. As per Newkirk, ectoplasm is very real, and he himself has encountered it. He describes it as being, 'very strange kind of off-white, almost like a raw egg kind of fluid.'
Feeling like someone or something's watching you
People who have lived in haunted houses have reported 'feeling watched,' and though difficult to determine objectively, this feeling should not be dismissed according to the paranormal expert.

Confusing changes in personality
As per Newskirk, the presence of a ghost or a paranormal energy can have an impact on people's personality. He says,
We see cases of possession or influence by a spirit all the time.
If you start to notice someone has taken on a pretty distinct personality change, that can be a sign of that.
Feeling emotionally or physically disoriented is another sign that your living space might have been invaded by an unwanted presence.
The history of the house
Sometimes finding out about previous tragedy or dark history of a house can explain many of the strange sensations people might have been feeling there. If you suspect that your house might be haunted, finding out more about its history might be able to answer some of the puzzling encounters you might be experiencing.
