Many women admit that their purse is their life. The handbags provide shelter for an impressive amount of daily essentials, serve as a makeup bar, fit in entertainment such as books and magazines, and are sometimes used as a pop-up rubbish bin. But to be frank, some of the items in the bottomless depths of a woman’s purse are simply shocking. Here is what they are.

A decomposing fruit
In an attempt to eat healthy many women try to add some of their potential fruit intake in their purses, hoping to consume it during the day. Sadly, some of nature's treats get forgotten, turning a handbag into an unappetising mess. Yuk.
Years-old makeup
Most women have old makeup items they no longer use but feel too sorry to let go. It seems to have no rationale behind it, yet it’s a true fact. A lot of these expired and unwanted cosmetics find refuge in women’s purses.
Disposable cutlery
Women often spare unused disposable cutlery from their takeaway meals, for the days they’ll 'really need it'. Unsurprisingly, when these days finally come, saved spoons, forks and knives are dirty and useless.
Hot sauce
Quite surprising but probably makes sense for someone who hates the blandness of their workplace cafeteria food.
Pictures of favourite celebrities
You won’t believe how many women actually keep these in their purses. Maybe, it's not a bad idea after all as the Backstreet boys aren’t around much anymore, but they looked so cute in the 90s. Visual stress relief, anyone?
Extra wigs
Hey, could you pass me that wig out of my purse? Although it may sound a little weird, some women were able to successfully implement a makeover thanks to these valuable beauty assets easily available from their handbags.
A vibrator
13 of 30 women asked by Hers Magazine to reveal the weirdest item in their purses confessed to keeping a vibrator there. Apparently, it makes them feel ‘sexy’, ‘prepared’, ‘fun’, and ‘spontaneous’. This must be the boldest item to carry around in public. But it’s the 21st century after all, and women are free to do as they please.
