What is kaolin clay?
Kaolin, also known as white clay, is a natural clay named after ‘Kaoling’, the hill where it was initially discovered. Since its discovery, kaolin clay has become widely used to create pottery, medicine, makeup and even skincare.

As a clay, kaolin is most commonly known for its ability to mattify an oily complexion by soaking up excess sebum.

How to use kaolin clay in your skincare routine
Exactly how and when kaolin should be used in your skincare routine depends on what product you’re using. However, when used as a face mask, kaolin should only be used once a week.
To use a kaolin clay mask, first, cleanse the skin. Then, liberally apply the mask to either your whole face or your T-zone, depending on which areas need the most attention. Let the mask do its work for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off, and follow up with your regular skincare routine.
