Stress is a trigger
Being confined is particularly conducive to anxiety. And we all know that stress can be the main cause of various skin problems, such as acne. Indeed, cortisol, the stress hormone, can cause the appearance of spots or blackheads if it is secreted in too large quantities.
What can be done about this? Finding ways to relax during this anxiety-provoking period is essential, for your well-being, and for the well-being of your skin! Several Youtube channels, as well as apps, are offering free trials or courses for meditation, sophrology and yoga, which can all be done peacefully at home. Know that half an hour of meditation can be enough to considerably reduce stress, and thus stop sudden outbreaks of spots!
Limit foods that are too rich
It is important to know that excess sugar, chocolate or even charcuterie can all cause acne to develop. It is therefore important to pay careful attention to your diet, and not eat too much rich food during this period of confinement.
The best way to do this? Avoid snacking, and making recipes that are too high in calories. Instead, eat healthy meals and vegetables such as avocado, carrots, lentils, sweet potatoes, leeks or broccoli. For dessert, you can make berry smoothies, for example.
Maintain a routine
Confinement has turned everything upside down, including our routines and schedules. Yet maintaining a routine and sticking to it is essential. Not sleeping enough or working too hard at home can also cause spots to turn up.
What’s the best way to accomplish this? Pretend you're at work and stick to a schedule. And don't forget, as mentioned above, to take time for yourself to meditate... or to finally try yoga!
