Research on the subject was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Researchers studied multiple blood samples taken from 1500 women who had gone through menopause. The researchers focused on the telomeres; whose function is to limit the progressive deterioration of cells. Unfortunately, as time goes on, they deteriorate and grow shorter. In other words, they contribute to the appearance of wrinkles.
