Most people have a microwave in their kitchen, which isn't surprising because they come in handy when you need to heat or cook certain foods fast. However, microwave cooking is not recommended for certain foods, as it may denature them or cause food poisoning. Nobody wants that!

1. Mushrooms
Mushrooms cannot be microwaved when previously cooked. This vegetable should be eaten fresh; it may become indigestible otherwise.
2. Rice
A lot of people reheat their rice in the microwave. However, doing so is highly inadvisable. Cooked rice contains highly resistant bacteria called Bacillus Cereus. This bacteria can produce toxic spores that can cause nausea and food poisoning. It's best to avoid this!
3. White meat
White meat should be cooked evenly to eliminate the presence of bacteria like salmonella. However, microwaves don't fully or evenly cook meat, and they don't always kill all the bacteria in your chicken. Undercooking your meat could cause fever and diarrhea.
4. Sausage
Heating sausage in the microwave can be tempting, but it's not ideal. In fact, sausage often has high water content, and microwaving can cause it to explode. It's best to boil or grill it. If you want to cook it in the microwave, prick it with a fork beforehand.
5. Marshmallows
Marshmallows absorb heat very quickly, especially in the microwave. In fact, it can make your marshmallows catch fire. So, you should probably avoid putting your cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows in the microwave.
