Fast-food drive-thru rules
According to American History, drive-thrus first became popular in California around the 1950s when the entire nation and the world were gripped by the mania of cars. It was a simple way for fast-food companies to supply food to their customers without them having to leave the luxury of their cars. Drive-thrus were then introduced around the world, including in the UK.
As per The Sun,people without cars are usually not allowed to use the drive-thru. Even cycling through it is not actually allowed. The report from 2020 quoted a McDonald’s spokesperson as saying,
For everyone’s safety, we absolutely cannot serve people who are not in road-going motor vehicles, and we would ask customers to refrain from attempting to use the drive-thru lane in any other manner.
Luckily, in the case of the horse-rider, he doesn’t seem to have faced any negative consequences for his action.
