It regulates the digestive system
Rhubarb is composed mostly of fibre, which is definitely an asset for those who have trouble going to the toilet. It is therefore ideal for treating constipation, but be careful not to eat too much of it, at the risk of having to deal with its strong laxative effects.
It reduces bad cholesterol
Thanks to its fibre content, rhubarb helps eliminate 'bad' cholesterol, while maintaining the 'good' one. It is important to regulate bad cholesterol to avoid artery and heart problems.
It is very low in calories
Rhubarb is one of the least caloric fruits because it is full of water. You can, therefore, eat it for breakfast, as a snack, or for dessert without any moderation if you also have a good diet. The best way to eat it is as a jam, or in a crumble.
It has anti-inflammatory properties
Rhubarb is ideal for strengthening the immune system and treating inflammation. Try eating some if you have intestinal pain.
It is full of vitamins
If there's one thing that rhubarb is known for, it's vitamins! It contains a huge amount of them, such as vitamins B, C, E, K, and A. In other words, rhubarb is excellent for strengthening teeth and bones, promoting good blood clotting, and speeding up the healing process.
