KFC customer finds 'live and moving' cockroach crawling inside his Zinger Tower Meal

While fast-food fans love the cool deals, freebies and new menu add-ons at popular restaurants such as KFC and McDonald's, unfortunately, eating food at these restaurants seem to come with its own set of stomach-churning risks.

Customers have found everything from nose ring in Quarter Pounder burger to vapes inside Happy Meal box. One KFC customer even had this shocking find in her fries.

Now, as per The Sun, a customer who dined at a KFC in Newport Wales, had the shock of his life after finding something unexpected crawling at the bottom of his KFC meal.

KFC customer finds a live insect in his food

The customer,Josh Hanbury almost finished the popcorn chicken that came with his Zinger Tower Meal, when he noticed something that made him feel instantly sick: a live cockroach crawling around the bottom of his chicken box.

The disgusted customer recounts,

I put the last three pieces into my mouth and saw something moving in the bottom of the box.

Then I realised it was a cockroach.

I instantly felt sick, so I didn’t want to finish the meal even though I paid £15 for it.

The customer also added that they would never be eating from KFC again.

Customer dissatisfied with KFC's response

The shocked customer immediately reported the incident to the manager of the KFC restaurant. Although the manager was apologetic, the customer was dissatisfied by the response as they were offered more food instead of a refund.

As per Mr. Hanbury,

The manager was immediately apologetic but didn’t offer me a refund.

I was quite frustrated with the fact he didn’t offer me that. Instead, he gave me more food which I didn’t eat.

A KFC spokesperson told the The Sun in a statement,

We must admit we were surprised by this image…

Our chicken is freshly prepared, cooked at 365 degrees and served soon after so it'd be quite something to survive that.

We have very strict hygiene and quality processes at our restaurants and the Newport restaurant has a 5 star EHO rating, but we’d love Josh to get in touch to fully understand how this happened so we can investigate and help make it right.
