KFC is bringing back this iconic menu item after fans 'begged' for its return

KFC’s latest offering is bound the make its chicken-loving fans sing for joy. After much begging from its fans, the fast-food company has just announced the return of a beloved fan-favourite menu item.

As reported by Today, KFC is bringing back its hit menu item the Double Down after more than decade since it was first introduced by the brand.

KFC’s Double Down is coming back after more than a decade

As per the report, KFC first introduced the Double Down 2010, and it was an immediate hit, with the company selling more than 10 million of this sandwiches in the first month itself. Since then, KFC fans have been begging the company to bring it back. So much so that there is even a Change.org petition fir it called ‘Bring Back the Double Down.’

Finally, fans can taste the KFC Double Down again from March 6, but hurry because it will be here only for a limited time.

The Double Down is a sandwich without buns, and features two KFC’s crispy white-meat chicken fillets (as the 'bun'), cheese, hickory-smoked bacon, and KFC’s mayo or a spicy sauce.

KFC will host a ‘Double Down Drop,’ on 5 March where fans can get a chance to try the returning menu item for free. For more information, visit KFC’s website for the contest here.

As per a statement published by Today, Nick Chavez, chief marketing officer or KFC U.S. said in KFC’s press release,

The Double Down is one of the most buzzworthy fast food menu items ever.

After nearly a decade of people begging for its return, we’re embracing the chaos, bringing back our most iconic sandwich ever for just four weeks.

In addition to the Double Down, KFC is introducing a new item called the Bacon & Cheese Chicken Sandwich. This too will be available at KFC starting March 6, but only for a limited time only.
