As reported by USA Today, American food chain Panda Express has been held accountable for serious issues in its payment policy. Even though the food chain has denied any wrong doings, it is going to be settling claims amounting to over a million dollars.
Earlier, McDonald's have had to pay thousands of dollars after serious violations in some of their franchises. In another case, the fast-food corporation also had to compensate the family of a child after its chicken nuggets caused severe injuries to the child. And just this week, Pret A Manger has been fined £800,000 for workplace negligence.
Thousands of customers to receive compensation from Panda Express
As per the lawsuit Panda Express misrepresented the cost of delivery of its food, by advertising low-price deliveries, usually for $2.95. But apparently the company then added a 10% 'service charge' for delivery, which customers were not aware of.
Though Panda Express denies wrongdoings, it would be paying $1.4 million in settlement to customers. If you ordered food from Panda Express between July 17, 2020 and Feb. 16, 2022 with a service charge, you might be eligible for a cash payment from the brand.
