The festive season is over and sadly, not only does this mean that we all have to go back to work and get on with things as per usual, but it’s also the time to let go of our favourite festive fast-food menu items.

As reported by Daily Mail, this week, McDonald’s has axed eight items from its festive menu from last year. Though fans knew this was coming, it’s still disappointing to let go off some of their favourite items. On a positive note, fans can expect the fast-food giant to reveal some exciting new menu additions soon.
Here are the foods fans have to say goodbye to.
Axed festive food and drinks
Among burgers, the Big Tasty burger has been axed. And so have the classic hot pies and Cheese Melt dippers. The Festive Pie filled with mince and custard can also no longer to found at McDonald’s.
Another winter favourite, four breaded cheese melt camembert dippers, which came with a tomato dip, has also been shown the door by McDonald’s.
Festive drinks such as the caramel waffle latte and the hot chocolate deluxe, which fans loved sipping on during Christmas season, have been axed by McDonald’s. Celebrations McFlurry, which was introduced last year is also on its way out.
McDonald’s McPlant burger
From January 4, McDonald’s fans can enjoy the new Double McPlant burger in all of their restaurants. This is a vegan burger and has been described by the company as ‘undeniably delicious.’ The McPlant is priced at £4.89 for the burger and £6.49 as part of a meal but prices can vary across locations.
This year, in a bid to reduce waste, McDonald’s will also be hitting the pedal on implementing its objective of doing away with plastic cutlery in all its restaurants. Instead of the regular plastic cutlery, the fast-food chain has introduced recyclable pressed-paper knives, forks and spoons as eco-friendly substitutes.
