McDonald's Happy Meals have brought joy to millions of kids around the world ever since it was first introduced by the brand in June 1979. Its biggest attraction for kids has always been the surprise toys inside.

However, the massive scale of operation at which McDonald's works means that there have been many a Happy Meals served which have not ended well for customers. For example, one McDonald's customer was left shocked after their young child was served uncooked food inside Happy Meal. Happy Meal horror stories are as frequent as stories of McDonald's customers being left 'unbelievable disgusted,' after biting into nasty surprises in their food, or even allegedly being served dangerous things like metal in the meal.
Much like the case above, as reported by USA Today, two families in Michigan got the shock of their lives when the Happy Meals served by McDonald's to their children contained something truly unexpected.
McDonald's Happy Meal allegedly contained this instead of toys
As per the report, the first of these incidents surfaced when a McDonald's customer Kayla Almashy, based in Detroit posted on Facebook about finding box cutters instead of toys in the Happy meal she purchased for her daughter.
She informed in her Facebook post that she brought the meal from the drive-thru at Challis Road in Brighton, and advised other parents to be check their Happy Meal boxes before letting their kids handle it.
Needless to say, people were left shocked after seeing the post and the accompanying photo.

She highlights how dangerous the situation could have been in the comment section, saying,
I just can’t even imagine if it was a little one or a child with special needs who tried ripping open their “toy” this could of been so much worse!
As per the mother, McDonald's has begun investigating the matter.

Another parent makes the same find inside Happy Meal
As reported by WXYZ Detroit, another Michigan family found the same kind of bright yellow box cutter inside the Happy Meal they purchased for their child. In this case, it even came with a pen inside the box.
The parent, Dawn Paret, brought the Happy Meal from the McDonald's at 13 Mile road and Schoenherr in Warren. The customer recounted how her 2-year-old child found the object inside the meal box, and luckily handed it out to the dad before anything untoward happened.
She opened up the box looking for the toy and he was getting the 2-year-old set up. And she turned around, looked at him and held that out and said, 'dad, what is this?
The mother underlines the gravity of the issue stating,
Anything could have happened. And that's what's scary
The incident has been reported and McDonald's is currently investigating the matter.
