Eating at any kind of establishment necessitates a certain level of trust on the part of the customers. You have to believe that the restaurants or cafés you eat at are following best hygiene practices as well as maintaining acceptable cleanliness and sanitation standards. Fans generally assume that eating from established food joints or popular fast-food chains such as McDonald’s means that they do not have to worry about such pesky issues.

However, some McDonald’s fans were not pleased with what they saw in a recently surfaced TikTok video. In fact, McDonald’s fans were left horrified after watching the video of the restaurant staff preparing Big Mac Burgers without wearing gloves.
Viral video of staff preparing Big Mac
The video was shared by the TikTok account @vasealupascu4747. Since the video was posted, it has gone completely viral with more than 60 million views and thousands of people liking and commenting on the video.
The video shows a McDonald’s staff assembling a Big Mac. The process itself is fairly standard with the person in the video deftly putting everything together.
What has created controversy among fans, is that the staff member does everything, including placing the patties on the bread correctly, with his bare hands, without wearing gloves.
Reaction to the video
The video left fans asking if it was normal practice in McDonald’s and whether they should be worried about what they have been consuming till now. One commenter says,
That's why I stopped going to McDonald's, they don't wear gloves
Another chimed in with similar sentiments, writing,
In EVERY McDonald's in the UK they don't use gloves... that's why I don't get McDonald's here
However, a former worker provided a reasoning for not using gloves. As per the comment, gloves could be spreading more bacteria so washing hands frequently is instituted as a standard practice at McDonald's rather than gloves.
The ex-employee states,
I worked at mcdonald's and we don't wear gloves because it spreads more bacteria and if we keep changing its a waste so we wash our hands constantly
