One of the reasons we all love McDonald’s, besides their burger and fries, is because it is available any time of the day or even until the wee hours of the night. Whether it is for a weekday dinner or after a trip to the pub with friends, you know that you’ll not go hungry if a McDonald’s restaurant is anywhere close by.

But these late-opening hours have apparently stirred in some trouble at some McDonald’s restaurant in the UK, and as reported by Birmingham Live, the fast-food restaurant is implementing a new rule in order to solve the problem.

McDonald’s dining rule after 5PM
As per the report, a McDonald’s in Wrexham has started playing classic music by Beethoven after 5 PM as a technique to quell clashes and tensions between rival gangs who hang out nearby.
The final straw that made the restaurant institute the new change, was a huge clash that took place involving about 20 people.
Besides playing classical music after 5PM, the McDonald’s will also be cutting off Wi-Fi inside the restaurant.

The reason for using classical music
One cop reportedly stated that the reason for playing classical music was that it is expected to help create a better atmosphere at the McDonald’s location, one that gives off a serene family feeling. He states,
The idea is the yobs would disperse as it's not their scene.
The classical music clearly differentiates between the nightclub atmosphere, that some customers have just left, and the more serene family restaurant that McDonald's aims to provide.
The report also states that effects of classic music have been tested by the police earlier at various locations, who found that it encourages acceptable behaviour and dissuades unruly crowds from gathering or causing nuisance.
