Going to McDonald’s with family and friends should be a fun and happy occasion, especially for kids. However, for one unfortunate child, what was supposed to be a regular visit to a McDonalds, ended in a shocking and terrifying twist.

As reported by Yahoo News, an 8-year-old boy who visited a McDonald’ s in Hyderabad, India on March 8, was attacked by a giant rat. The attack was so vicious that the child was left with wounds as well as mental trauma.

Child attacked by a huge rodent in McDonald’s
Rodents in fast-food establishments can pose a significant danger to both customers and employees. These include the possibility of contamination of food, spreading diseases, damage to property as well as health code violations.
However, in case of the McDonald’s in question, the rodents were so huge that they resorted to directly attacking people.
As per the report, as the child and his parents sat down at the McDonald’s, a huge rat scurried out from the bathroom and climbed up the child’s shorts. The rat then proceeded to bite the child who was already in a lot of distress.

Child left terrified by ‘puppy-sized’ rat in McDonald’s
The family has since filed a police complaint against the McDonald’s. As per the police report of the incident, the rat was as big as a small ‘puppy.’ The report further states the child's father's account,
This rodent climbed up the left leg of my son and entered his short pants near his groin area
The child was ‘gripped in utter fear and shock and was screaming in agony.’ The report informs that,
Complainant['s] wife and son were traumatised by this incident which clearly is a life endangering health hazard and is an utter negligence of hygiene and sanitation.
The child was immediately rushed to receive medical attention after the attack. The police report also contained images of the boy’s injuries from the attack, showing two clear bite marks on his legs.
