People allege McDonald's fries are not vegetarian
TikToker @jordan_the_stallion8 shared a TikTok which purported to explain why McDonald's fries taste different from everybody else's fries. The reason according to him is,
It’s because McDonald’s cooks [its] fries with beef flavouring mixed within their vegetable oil so that’s why the fries taste so good, but also so different from everybody else’s.
As the TikToker states, it was indeed 'bad news for vegetarians.'
Even Peta shared their thoughts on the matter saying,

People are having some pretty strong reactions to this accusation. One person agreed with the information saying,

as a person who worked at McDs for 13 years I can say that was total bunk. we used the same oil for fries, chicken and fish.
To the relief of McDonald's lovers in the UK, per McDonald's statement published by Mirror, McDonald's fries in the UK are completely vegetarian. The statement reads,
McDonald's French Fries are officially accredited by the Vegetarian Society.
The brand states that their fries are made with McCain's from Russet Burbank, Pentland Dell and Shepody potatoes, which are chosen for their quality, taste and long shape when cut.
They are 'not coated in any fats or substances from an animal' and are simply cooked in dedicated frying vats in a non-hydrogenated blend of sunflower and rapeseed oil.
