Perhaps the most popular way of eating peanut butter, is on a sandwich. Peanut butter sandwiches are very popular among both children and adults, and it can be customised to suit individual tastes by adding toppings such as jam, honey or bananas.

But with peanut butter craze seemingly taking over TikTok, many food-Tok creators have come up with unique peanut butter recipes. Among these, one of the weirdest ones is the combination of peanut butter with onion.

Combination of onion and peanut butter

The TikTok account @sandwichdad posted a video on his account showing how to make a peanut butter and onion sandwich. He says,

It is definitely one of the most often requested peanut butter sandwiches.

He then proceeds to slather peanut butter on one slice of bread, while on another bread, he layers sliced raw onion. Then he proceeds to season the onions slightly with salt and pepper, and puts both sides of the sandwich together.

His verdict after trying the sandwich is quite positive. He says,

I can see it. My ration might be a little bit off but I’d say 3.5 on 5.

There are also other TikTok accounts which have been trying out different versions of this sandwich.

Creator @cibsandibus also made a version of this sandwich with peanut butter, onion and pickles.He gives this recipe a positive verdict too, saying that the peanut butter mellows out the spiciness of the onion.
