Do you have bananas lying around that are now a bit too ripe? There’s no point throwing them away! You could always use them to make a delicious treat instead: banana bread. Banana bread is a soft, moist cake-like bread made with actual bananas. The riper your bananas are, the more flavour your bread will have. You will need to either mash them up with a fork to make a purée or cut them into pieces, but this all depends on what you want the taste and texture of your bread to be like.

Banana bread can be enjoyed plain, but you could also add chocolate chips or some chocolate icing to make it even tastier. It is also possible to add in some nuts such as walnuts, almonds or hazelnuts to give it a bit more crunch. Finally, if you want to make your bread just that bit more special, you could throw in some cinnamon, vanilla or even Tonka bean extract.
