Supermarkets such as Aldi, Tesco and Woolsworth are well known for well-priced groceries. However, a grocery trip for one Woolsworth customer did not go as planned, as she experienced something so nasty, it is enough to turn even seasoned shoppers paranoid about their purchases.
The shocked customer uploaded a TikTok, and shared how the broccoli she brought at Woolsworth contained hundreds of bugs.

Woolsworth customer shared nasty find on the Internet
The customer whose username is @octoberyy, captioned her video saying,
HELP PLEAASEE IS THIS NORMAL
The video shows the broccoli submerged in water, and surrounded by hundreds of bugs floating on the water. As per the customer, the bugs were alive!
She says in the video,
I bought a broccolini bunch from Woolworths and I found a bunch of these little tiny bugs.
They had legs, there were alive. I washed them in water and they are still there.
I just couldn't eat it. I threw it away. Look how many!
The video has gone viral, having been watched over 750k times on the platform.

Reactions to the nasty find
With so many people watching the video, there have also been a trail of commenters leaving their thoughts on the find. As per many viewers, the bugs in the broccoli are insects are known as Aphids.
A concerned comment encouraged the customer to let the store know,
if you’ve got the time its always a good idea to let woolies know. aphid infestations are a big issue for crops
Another commenter added,
Aphids, normal to get a couple but the last shot has a piece that’s infested. I would have taken it back
One person suggested,
There were no poisonous chemicals used to kill them.must be grown naturally,put some white vinegar in the water to get rid of the bugs
A lot of people also pointed out how this incident underlined the necessity for consumers to wash their fruits and vegetables before eating.
One person wrote,
I soak all my fresh fruit & veg in vinegar and water for a few hours! you'll be surprised what you get out...
