A KFC customer in Georgia was left stunned when she found that the KFC she ordered for lunch came with a hidden stack of US$543.10 (£477.77) in cash.

According to Yahoo News, this happened in Jackson, Georgia in the US, where a KFC customer, JoAnne Oliver picked up her KFC drive-thru order for lunch. Upon reaching her office, she opened the KFC takeaway bag to find US$543.10 (£477.77) in cash lying underneath her chicken sandwich.

The KFC customer has been praised for her actions

The honest KFC customer did not keep the money, and instead, she called the police to report the money. Mrs. Oliver has been praised for returning the money, particularly considering the fact that her family has been struggling with millions of dollars’ worth of medical bills due to her husband’s ongoing cancer treatment.

Mrs. Oliver later spoke about the experience in an interview with WSB Radio, saying,

I started counting it and when I got to $500, I stopped and just put it back in the envelope, closed the envelope put the sandwich back the way I got it and just slid it to the side until the officer got here.

After the police investigated the matter, they found that the money was the KFC restaurant’s daily deposit, which had been mistakenly put inside the takeaway bag.
