2. How to consume honey: Organic honey is a natural sweetener that can replace the empty calories of white sugar extracted from sugar beet or cane sugar. Indeed, in addition to the benefits mentioned above, honey is favoured for another reason: its nutritional value. While it is high in calories (about 300 kcal per 100 g, against 385 kcal per 100 g for white sugar), unlike white sugar - it contains vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals: calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin C.
The honey diet for weight loss is gaining popularity - so how does it work? According to English nutritionist, Mike McInnes in The Hibernation Diet, it's simple: eat a spoonful of honey before bed as this helps regulate sugar cravings the next day.

Side effects: Whilst organic honey is preferable to cane sugar for nutritional reasons, especially when following a weight loss program, beware, it is still stuffed with sugar (about 80 g per 100 g)! So if you really want to lose weight by following the honey diet, it is essential to practice physical activity and follow a balanced diet. You can also replace daily traditional sweeteners with a pinch of cinnamon. Always make sure you consult your doctor about unusual changes to your diet. It should be noted that honey is not recommended for children under one year because of the risk of infant botulism.
