A large number of cat food products are being recalled after fears they could be linked to a rise in cats dying from a fatal disease called pancytopenia. The products are being recalled from multiple stores as a precautionary measure whilst an investigation is carried out.

The Sainsbury’s products affected by the recall are: by Sainsbury’s Hypoallergenic Recipe complete dry cat food with Salmon 1+ Years and by Sainsbury’s Hypoallergenic Recipe complete dry cat food with Chicken 1+ Years. Applaws recalled cat food products
The following packs of Applaws Dry Cat Food are being recalled by Applaws: Applaws Cat Dry Chicken & Lamb (400g, 2kg and 7.5kg), Applaws Cat Dry Chicken & Duck (400g, 2kg and 7.5kg), Applaws Cat Dry Ocean Fish (350g, 1.8kg and 6kg), Applaws Cat Dry Senior Chicken (400g, 2kg and 7.5kg), Applaws Kitten Dry Chicken (400g, 2kg and 7.5kg), Applaws Cat Dry Chicken (400g, 2kg and 7.5kg) and Applaws Cat Dry Chicken & Salmon (400g, 2kg and 7.5kg).
The recall from Applaws affects the above products only if they have a Best Before Date of Dec 2022 to June 2023, with the site reference code GB218E5009. You shouldn’t feed any of these to your cat.
