A study concluded that in order to obtain the maximum benefits from walnuts we should strive to eat about 8 walnuts every day and that the best way to eat them is on an empty stomach. They can help us against fight heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even some forms of cancer.

It goes without saying that if you want to age well, maintain mobility and stick around to see your great-grandchildren you need to eat healthily. A major part of a healthy body is a healthy diet, and walnuts are one of the top foods on the list for contributors to a healthy diet.
It can even help prevent or fight Alzheimer's disease. In a study conducted by New York State's Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities, it was found that supplementing 6-9% of a mouses diet with walnuts saw significant improvement in learning, memory and anxiety reduction.
An observational study that was done on older adults out of Tufts University in Boston, associated eating walnuts to improved brain function including better memory, faster processing speeds and improved mental flexibility.
