But if that's still not fast enough for you, we have THE solution to cook pasta in record time.
The technique for cooking pasta even faster
When cooking lentils and chickpeas, legumes that take a long time to cook, they should be left to soak for a few hours in water. This allows them to cook much more quickly. The same technique can be used for pasta. By soaking them overnight or just for a few hours, the pasta will become hydrated and will not need to cook as long as the time indicated on the packet.
To do this, here is the method to follow:
- Place the pasta in an airtight jar
- Fill with water
- Close the jar
- Leave to soak for 1 hour or ideally overnight
- Heat up a pot of hot water
- Drain the pasta
- Pour the pasta into the pot
- Leave to cook for 1 minute
- Drain the pasta again
- It's ready!
All you have to do then is dress the pasta with the sauce of your choice!
Going even further…
If you want to save even more time, you can heat up hot water in your kettle before pouring it into the pot. After a few minutes, the water will start to simmer and you can cook your pasta or any other food of your choice. And don't forget! Never throw away your pasta water, it could come in handy!
