A bunch of asparagus for Christmas
Children’s Christmas wishes ranged from sad to sweet and simply strange. One child, for example, asked for vegetables from Santa.
A mum wrote:
When my son was four he asked Santa for asparagus because it was his favourite food.
According to her, that was exactly what he got.
She added:
He of course woke up on Christmas morning to a bundle of asparagus wrapped in a bow (among his other gifts of course) I mean, what choice did we have? Ask and you shall receive!
Another woman said that her sister-in-law loved olives so much that she would get a jar every Christmas from Santa.
Forbidden treats
One man who played Santa admitted that a kid asked for a single stick of gum.
User called broberts69 commented:
I am Santa 7 days a week from the weekend before Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. I had a child ask me for a single stick of gum because his mom wouldn't allow him to have any. I had a girl ask for a box of Frosted Flakes for the same reason.
Animals live and frozen
According to the Christmas insiders, a lot of children ask for live animals like pigs or horses.
Some of the reasoning behind their presents can be as good as the ideas themselves, with one person explaining how a kid suggested where they would keep the new pet they wished for.
A Reddit user wrote:
My stepdad was a Disneyland Santa. A kid asked for a penguin and he asked where the kid would keep it and she said ‘in the freezer.’
Another child said that all they wanted for Christmas was a stuffed chicken, while someone else said they wished for a turtle.
A Zombie apocalypse for Christmas
But not all children seem to have a wish list and ‘simply want chaos’, with one child reportedly asking for 'fire'.
A Reddit user wrote:
When my Dad did his yearly Santa gig (volunteering for a yearly Christmas party), a kid asked for a Zombie apocalypse.
It's not just store Santas that get to hear hilarious children's requests. Mums and dads get a good laugh when their kids write letters to the North Pole.
In more unrealistic requests, one girl asked to be turned into a dragon, while another asked for $53 billion.
