The dog's name is Chico and he was rescued by firefighters on Tuesday after brutually attacking his owners. The firefighters also discovered the bodies of two people, a 52 year old woman and her son, 27. The result? Both of them bled to death after the attack. After this tragic incident, it was decided that the dog should be put down but over 260,000 people signed a petition to spare his life and to give him a fighting chance.
After further investigation, the City spokesman, Udo Moller, said that the family failed to turn the dog in sooner knowing how agressive and dangerous he was. The dog was trained to fight and the mother kept the dog in a cage most of the time in order to protect the children. Plus, in 2011, a social worker worked with the family to try to rearrange the living for the dog but the mother was very reluctant and decided to keep him instead.
Authorities will be reviewing where this dog should reside for now given his behavioural problems.
